Christina Roberts, M.S., RYT-200, discovered Ashtanga Yoga in 2002 and completed her first teacher training the following year. Through the evolution of her own practice, she obtained a number of fitness certifications including Group Fitness, Aqua Fitness (with a specialization in Arthritis and Fibromyalgia) and Pi-Yo-Chi (Aqua Pilates/Yoga/Ai-Chi). In 2008 she fell in love with running just a few months after the birth of her first daughter. Over the past 10 years, she has completed countless road and trail races including 6 marathons. She credits her yoga practice in keeping her focused and injury free.

In 2014, Christina completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training program in Pennsylvania. She develops yoga programming for a number of different audiences including amputees, stroke victims and corporate groups. She collaborated for two seasons (2014/2016 & 2016/2017) with the American Hockey League’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms on integrating yoga into their rigorous training and travel schedules. She completed her Yoga for Athletes certification under the direction of Sage Rountree. Christina is a Registered Instructor with the Yoga Alliance, a member of the Lehigh Valley Road Runners Club and a member of Endurance Multisport. She’s also certified as a Level I Run Coach with the Road Runners Club of America and is finishing her last class in the Sports Psychology Certification Program through California Southern University. In late 2016, Christina committed to expanding her athletic scope to include triathlon.

Currently, Christina is a run coach/yoga instructor with Endurance Multisport and teaches Yoga for Athletes regularly at Matryx Performance in Allentown, PA.

Through this journey, Christina has used breathing, mantras, and visualization techniques, normally a focus on the yoga mat, and applied them to the three disciplines in order to find a state of flow. This approach has proved useful both pre-race and during an event. Trust your abilities; believe in your training; finish with heart and just be damn proud.

Christina believes that life isn’t black and white; so neither is her approach.

I will never forget where I was when I started on my journey. I will always appreciate where my athletes are, where they’re going, and where they land. This is a commitment - one that can be very difficult, but also so beautiful. Regardless of the end goal, the process is so important.
